Course Lecturers/Instructors

JOB TITLE: LECTURER

APPLICATION PROCESS

Purpose: To teach, conduct research and carry out other academic related tasks at each 3-week Residential School for the College's Distance Learning Diploma Programs in Primary and Secondary Education.

Instructor Positions available:

  • Technology Studies

  • Religious Education

  • Physics

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 certificate or its equivalent.

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in field.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum two (2) years teaching or research experience.

  • Must be Computer literate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • lesson planning, course preparation and research

  • contact/teaching time with pupils

  • checking and assessing pupils' work

  • encouraging personal development via tutorial work with community learning groups during Distance Learning.

  • administering continuous assessment (quizzes, etc.)

  • invigilating sessional examinations

  • arranging teaching observation/practice experience placements at local schools

  • attending staff meetings

  • working evenings and weekends during the 3-week Residential Schooling

 


Secretary/Office Administrator

APPLICATION PROCESS

PURPOSE: To provide efficient and effective secretarial services of confidential and non-confidential nature.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gain complete knowledge of academic programming and other important affairs related to students.

  • Welcome all visitors, distribute informational material and applications when requested.

  • Typing from manuscripts, letters, reports, notices, etc as required.

  • Typing letters, reports, schedules, tables and other documents of confidential and non-confidential nature from handwritten or typed sources.

  • Proof reading the same and correcting errors thereof prior to circulating and or for approval prior to typing and dispatching typed script to addressees.

  • Drafting routine and straight forward letters and taking the same to superior, business visitors, etc.

  • Screening telephone calls and visitors to minimise interruptions.

  • Maintaining an accurate and up to date filing system in office for ease reference and document retrieval.

  • Operating a photocopier, fax machine, etc to ensure efficiency and quick processing of correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 Certificate with a Credit or better in English Language

  • Advanced Secretarial Certificate or Diploma with Typing speed of 65 words per minute and shorthand speed of 110/120 words per minute.

  • Certificate in Management Development for Executive Assistants or equivalent experience.

  • 2-5 years secretarial work experience.

  • Must be Computer Literate.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Good communication and public relations skills
